The Martlets’ Hospice –

The Hospice offers expert and compassionate care. Our aim is to enhance the quality of life and ease the distress of patients suffering from cancer and other serious conditions and for whom curative treatment is no longer appropriate.

The Hospice operates on a full-time basis throughout the year. In-patient care and Martlets @ Home care is delivered on a 24-hour, 7-days a week basis. The Day Hospice operates Monday to Thursday each week and Bereavement Support is offered by appointment.

The Sussex Beacon –

The Sussex Beacon is a continuing care unit for men and women with HIV/AIDS who require convalescence care, monitoring and maintenance of health, treatment support, palliative/terminal care, rehabilitation and a range of respite care. The care provided focuses on the holistic needs of the client; medical and nursing care needs together with social, educational, emotional, psychological, spiritual and cultural needs.

The Clare Project –

The Clare Project provides social support for people with gender issues and all those involved with them in Brighton & Hove and the surrounding Sussex areas. The project runs various social activities including a weekly, welcoming drop-in centre in Brighton where trans people can meet up in friendship and where they have access to regular, professional counselling that is not available through NHS routes. Currently the project is attempting to secure the long term funding of this much needed counselling.
